Turn the printer off, wait 30 seconds and turn the power back on
Solution: Understanding the Fault History Content

There are two viewable fault history logs accessible through the customer menu, Engine Errors and Jams. Follow the steps outlined below to access the fault history error logs.

  1. Scroll to the Troubleshooting Menu and press the OK key.
  2. Scroll to the Service Tools Menu and press the OK key.

The Engine Error History log records the last 30 printer errors and each corresponding page count.

Example: 52, 2087 - This example indicates there was a Fan Failure and the page count of the failure was 2087.

The Jams History log records the last 30 misfeeds or paper jams and each corresponding page count. The Jam locations are tracked by numerical code, refer below for the Jam code definitions,

1 = Misfeed at Tray 1 (MPT)

2 = Misfeed at Tray 2

3 = Misfeed at Tray 3

4 = Misfeed at Tray 4

5 = Jam at Fuser

6 = Jam at Duplex

7 = Jam at Registration Roller

Example: 1, 2120 - This example indicates there was a Misfeed at Tray 1 and the page count of the Misfeed was 2120.

  2. Choose a mileage distance. The search will locate a Service Provider within the specified range if available.
  3. Click Go. The web site will return a list of Authorized Service Providers (ASP) with their company name, address, phone number, and fax number.

Note    Note: The list of Authorized Service Providers will include the printer models the company is qualified to service. Be sure to select a repair facility that is authorized to repair your printer model.
